Carlow Portraits comprises slow motion video portraits and wide-ranging audio interviews. An intimate and sensitive work, it invites the viewer to spend time with these remarkable people from County Carlow. The participants speak about life, the passing of time, cultural change, and their extraordinary experience of Covid 19. These interviews were conducted during the individual portrait sittings. A website and archive of this project has been made to host these images and stories: www.carlowportraits.ie will be launched on Wednesday 6 October 2021.

About the Artist

Tadhg O’Sullivan is a film-maker, sound designer, radio-maker and artist. He was born in Co. Carlow.

Carlow Portraits was created through the support of Creative Ireland. The work will tour to County Carlow’s libraries in 2022 and be displayed in an outdoor public location in Carlow Town in January 2022.
